Hi, I’m Ángel, the artist behind AngelSS Art.

Since I was a child, I’ve loved drawing and painting. When I was 10, my grandfather built me a wooden easel—my first contact with oil painting. And although my professional studies followed a different path, I never stopped learning and growing as an artist.

Today I work with several disciplines—oil, watercolor, graphite, charcoal, dry pastel, among others—and it’s dry pastel that I’m especially passionate about, particularly for pet portraits.

I work with dry pastel because it allows me to build a deep realism: texture, light, and nuances that make a gaze feel close. But my goal isn’t to “copy” a photo—it’s to capture presence. That expression you recognize instantly. That small gesture only someone who lives with them truly sees.

That’s why, before I begin, I like to learn a little about their story: what your companion is like, what makes them unique, and what you’d like to preserve in the portrait. I work without rushing, with a careful handmade process, and I’m personally involved in every stage—from choosing the reference to the final finish and packaging.
